Antalya Sand Sculpture Festival

Antalya’s Sand Sculpture Festival is one of Turkey’s most well-known cultural and artistic events. The Festival will open to the public on May 1st with a new “Time Travel” concept added to its current “Space Adventure” theme.

The festival, which takes place on the well-known Lara Beach in the southern region, is about 7,000 square meters in size and includes about 200 sand sculptures made from 10,000 tons of river sand.

This year, the exhibition featured roughly 15 newly created pieces by 25 professional sand painters from different nations who have come together in Antalya.

The “Time Travel” concept was added in an effort to pique tourists’ interest, according to festival coordinator Cem Karaca. People have always been fascinated by the topic of time travel, raising questions about whether it is actually feasible. We hoped that our guests would find some solutions to this query here,” he said.

For the new sculptures, between 1,500 and 2,000 tons of sand were used.
