The just finished Teknofest Festival in southeast Turkey was described by the new British ambassador to Ankara as “a great opportunity to witness the creativity and innovative capabilities of Türkiye’s young engineers and scientists.”
In a video on social media site X, British Ambassador to Ankara Jennifer Elizabeth Anderson, who took over the position last month, praised the most recent Teknofest, the nation’s largest aerospace and technology festival.
Anderson expressed her happiness that the event was hosted in Şanlıurfa, describing it as one of her favourite cities and expressing her admiration.
“This visit was a great opportunity to witness the creativity and innovative capabilities of Türkiye’s young engineers and scientists. It was extremely valuable to see Türkiye’s strong technology ecosystem and to discuss new opportunities for cooperation between the U.K. and Türkiye,” she added.
Anderson expressed her desire “to return to both Urfa and Teknofest in the coming years,” referring to the previous name of Şanlıurfa, while sporting a famous red Teknofest jacket. I’ll be keeping this jacket because of that.”
She also thanked Elvan Kuzucu Hıdır, chair of the T3 Foundation’s board of directors, Haluk Bayraktar, chair of SAHA Istanbul Defense & Aerospace Cluster, and Selçuk Bayraktar, chair of the T3 Foundation’s board of trustees and chair of the Teknofest board, for the Teknofest visit.
