Turkey proud of its first Astronaut

Launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre in Florida, the spaceship owned by SpaceX carrying Turkey’s first space traveller, Alper Gezeravcı, was successfully completed. Gezeravcı will undertake a number of scientific experiments during his 14-day stay at the International Space Station (ISS).

As a part of the Axiom Mission 3 crew, Alper will collaborate alongside Walter Villadei of Italy and Marcus Wandt of Sweden, as well as Michael Lopez-Algeria of Spain and the United States.

Following his designation as the “First Turkish Astronaut,” Alper Gezeravcı’s initial remarks during his space mission under the Axiom-3 (Ax-3) programme, “The future is in the skies,” sparked interest in the initial remarks made by other astronauts.

Alper Gezeravcı, a Turkish astronaut, began his space mission when a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched from pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida at 4:49 p.m. U.S. time (12:49 a.m. Turkish time). Four astronauts from Turkey, Sweden, Italy, and Spain were on board the SpaceX-affiliated Axiom Mission 3, which was launched to the International Space Station.
