Turkey’s tourists enjoy longer holiday stays than in Spain, Italy and France. According to KPMG Türkiye’s 2025 tourism study, Turkey has outperformed its European competitors in terms of average visitor stay time. According to the data, Turkey welcomed 52.8 million tourists and made $64.4 billion in revenue last year, which is particularly noteworthy given how long visitors stayed.
With an average stay of 10.7 days, Turkey outperformed competitors like Italy and France and more than quadrupled Spain’s total of 5.3 days.
In response to the research, Davut Čaydın, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), emphasized that these numbers validated Turkey’s continued great potential in the tourist industry.
Stressing that TÜRSAB’s current goal was to promote travel throughout the entire year, Günaydın said: “The current tourist numbers are no longer sufficient for Türkiye’s tourism sector. With better integration among institutions, I believe we will eventually see tourist numbers exceeding 100 million.”
