Long before he makes his Premier League debut, Liverpool’s newest speedster, Jeremie Frimpong, is already creating waves—this time off the field, but in the upscale areas of Bodrum’s summer nightlife.
Following a 35 million euro ($40.1 million) transfer from Bayer Leverkusen, the 24-year-old Dutchman made headlines with a lavish evening at a renowned Greek restaurant in Yalıkavak. Local media state that Frimpong and eight pals spent a spectacular evening of dancing, plate-smashing, and high-end indulgence that ended early on June 18th and brought in an astounding TL 600,000 tab, or almost $17,000.
Yalikavak is an upmarket location for all
Under the direction of restaurant owner Mehmet Uğur Deveci, the exuberant defender, who last season had one of the Bundesliga’s fastest times of 36.34 km/h, was spotted totally involved in the celebratory sirtaki rites and traditional Greek customs.
Frimpong stole the show as the diners cheered. Frimpong’s progress in football is reflected in his flair. Under Xabi Alonso, he played a pivotal role in Leverkusen’s historic Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double. He earned his Liverpool deal with a scorching 14 goals and 12 assists in 47 games the previous season.
Frimpong’s signing at Anfield covers a tactical gap left by Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid. He brought versatility and verticality to Arne Slot’s developing side when he signed a five-year contract allegedly worth 100,000 pounds ($134,384) per week.
Despite making headlines in Turkish media, his Yalıkavak receipt represents a decrease in the Aegean as compared to his new wage. The expenditure, which represents one-sixth of his weekly Leverkusen salary, demonstrates his wealth and enthusiasm for life.
Bodrum is attracting international VIP’s
But Frimpong isn’t only interested in sunsets. He intends to tour other upscale Bodrum venues, according to sources, securing his position in the area’s high-society circuit. With its pristine bays during the day and its opulent nightlife at night, Bodrum has developed into a second home for football’s top players, including Frimpong.
