UK tourists coming over to Turkey is expected to rise by 69 percent this year. It has been reported that the country is bouncing back after a few challenging years and is offering tourists holidays in picturesque resorts at a great price. We are seeing the increase as holiday goers are staying away from the likes of European destinations such as Spain because of the cost.
A leading tourism association has stated that there has indeed been a significant rise in bookings from UK tourists for Turkey for summer this year and it has been reported that almost 150,000 British people have made early reservations for next summer.
The Antalya region seems to be most popular with tourists from Germany and Russia as they are drawn to Turkey’s stable prices. Last years rift between Turkey and Germany saw numbers of Germans visiting drop, but it looks like this year the rift has healed as holiday bookings for Antalya from German tourists soared in Jaunary by a 99 percent increase putting Antalya into German’s top 10 holiday destination. This rise saw German bookings to Spain decrease a significant amount. Holidays to resorts like Majorca and Palma fell by 15 percent.
It is reported that Russians will also be returning to Turkey, 5 million are expected this year. Turkey is offering low package holiday prices, plus an earlier than usual commencement of holiday bookings which bodes well with Russian tourists.
Reports state there has been a 25 percent increase in demand for Turkish resorts and bookings for Antalya flights and Marmaris flights have increased compared to this time last year.
Tour operators have stated that the demand for Aegean holidays is increasing with enquiries for Bodrum, Kusadasi and Cesme.
