Turkey, like many other countries have been under immense global pressure to do more about caring for the environment, and so hopefully by the end of 2021, property purchases and real estate deals will no longer be relying on ‘paper transactions’ and ‘paper title deeds’ to complete the process.
Advancements in technology such as digital signatures and the fact that currently all title deeds and mortgage documents are being provided by an online portal, the fact is, is that it will no longer be required to sign documents using the traditional ink method, once everything has been registered into the Land Registry and Cadastre IT system.
Murat Kurum who is the Environment and Urbanization minister knows the targets that Turkey has set itself to reduce their environmental impact, and going paperless, especially in the Real Estate Industry, will help enormously. ‘Not only are public buildings being used more economically and efficiently’ he said, ‘but transaction processes will also be shortened due to the easier access to documents transferred to electronic media.’
So, it’s a win-win situation for all really!!!
