Excellent conditions mark the start of the Ski Season at Palandöken Ski Resort

Ski Season at Palandöken Ski Resort

In Erzurum, one of Turkey’s top winter sports destinations the ski season has started at Palandöken Ski Resort. The snow depth has reached 82 centimeters (32 inches). The ski resort, which is run by Ejder3200 Inc. a division of the Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, has been working nonstop to get the slopes ready for the winter season. The city’s recent snowfall has added to the heavy snow cover.

Many skiers travelled to Palandöken on Friday to spend their first day on the slopes as the ski season got underway. Free lift rides were offered to visitors, and they enjoyed the first ski runs of the year under bright skies.

The resort is full of excitement at Palandöken

Ski enthusiast Kıvanç Kütüker voiced his pleasure, stating that he had been missing skiing a lot. The slopes were in great shape with a heavy coating of snow, even though it was the opening day of the season, he said, adding that the crystal-like smoothness of the snow made skiing on the powder much more pleasurable.

Her excitement was echoed by Güneş Tiryaki, who left Istanbul as soon as she learned the slopes were prepared: “We’ve been waiting for this moment. The hills are lovely, and today is our first day. I’ll enjoy skiing here for a week or so before returning to Istanbul”.

Later in the season, there will be a formal opening ceremony

The resort, which is part of the Palandöken Mountain range, is well-liked by both local and foreign tourists since it has some of the longest and tallest ski slopes in Turkey. With an average yearly snowfall of over 2 meters and an elevation range of 2,000 to 3,100 meters (6,560 to 10,170 feet), the resort provides ideal conditions for skiing and snowboarding. Its slopes accommodate skiers of all skill levels, from novices to experts, and it has contemporary amenities including high-speed chairlifts and a clean snow park.
