One of the biggest Investments in Bodrum is about to launch itself on the scene as the Mugla Metropolitan Municipality laid the first foundation stone at the site of the new Bus Station, set to cost in the region of 74 million Turkish Lira.
Situated on a plot of just over 30,000 sqm with a build size of 17,000 sqm there will be a total of 21 Intercity Bus terminals, 45 Minibus Bays, 10 storage bays, parking lot for 157 vehicles, underground parking for 19 vehicles and disabled parking bays for 8 vehicles. In these modern times where electric cars and a greener environment are of top priority across the world, the roof of the Bodrum Bus Station will also consist entirely of solar panels at a cost of 4 million Turkish Lira. 6 Electric vehicle charging stations will also be powered entirely from the solar panels, making the building & it´s facilities totally self-sufficient.
In order to relieve urban traffic throughout the district, mainly for the summer season the existing bus station will be moved out of the centre to the Torba Junction.
Mugla has 13 districts & 566 neighbourhoods and, along with others, the construction of the new terminal is of the utmost importance & urgency for Bodrum, so it can continue to be bought into this modern era, and offer it´s residence the transport infrastructure that is so desperately needed to meet growing demand.
President Gurun along with the participation of the Chairman Mr Kemal Kilicdaroglu for Mugla Metropolitan Municipality said ´Mugla deserves the best service. We have a lot to do for Mugla and we are implementing a project worthy of our beautiful district Bodrum.
