Turkish Airlines has launched direct flights from London’s Gatwick Airport over to the Mediterranean resort of Antalya. The new route began on the 31st March and will operate daily until the 26th October 2019.
Celal Baykal, the carrier’s general manager in London has stated that “With a combination of stunning scenery, excellent weather and world class golf courses to offer, it’s easy to understand why Antalya is such a popular destination for thousands of British holiday makers each year.”
Turkish Airlines flies to more than 300 destinations in over 120 countries. Records show that in 2018 the airline carried more than 75 million passengers and it has been reported that the airlines net profit had soared to 4 billion Turkish Liras in 2018 from 639 million Turkish Liras the previous year.
Turkish Airlines is now operating from its new home at the brand new Istanbul Airport.
It has also been announced that Pegasus Airlines will be launching flights on the 1st July between Manchester Airport and Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen.
The new flights will be operating five times a week. They are scheduled to depart from Manchester Airport at 12.40pm and arrive at Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen at 6.50pm. Flights will then be departing from Istanbul at 9.30am and shall arrive at Manchester ar 11.55am.
Not only will passengers be able to access the city of Istanbul, Pegasus flights will also allow passengers easy connections onto other international destinations such as Bahrain, Beirut and Sharjah.
Julian Carr, aviation director at Manchester Airport, said “It’s great to see Pegasus Airlines launch direct flights to Istanbul from Manchester Airport.”
“The route will offer the 22 million people in our vast catchment area additional connectivity and access to Turkey and beyond.”
