Large cruise liner the Regal Princess docked at Ege Port in Kusadasi this week and was carrying a total of 2,460 passengers, most of whom had come from the USA.
The huge vessel is 1,082 feet in length and weighs around 141,000 gross tons. It has a passenger capacity of 3,560 and has 15 stories above water. It has been nicknamed the “floating city” by cruise companies at Ege Port.
Some of the passengers from the ship visited some of Kusadasi’s most historic sites like the Ancient City of Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary in the nearby Selcuk district, others went on to enjoy some of Kusadasi’s most famous bazaars.
The Regal Princess is to make a further eight voyages to Kusadasi right up to the end of the cruise season. Around 500 cruise liners are set to dock at Ege Port throughout 2022.
