Lake Bafa, a vital breeding and wintering ground for 261 bird species, including endangered ones, has seen a remarkable recovery in its water level. Previously, the lake’s water level had dropped by about 40 meters (131.23 feet) due to the drought over the summer months. However, recent rainfall has replenished the lake, restoring it to its previous levels and submerging areas where the water had receded.
The lake is experiencing a remarkable revival as rising water levels allow the algae and mud deposits to clear, rejuvenating its natural ecosystem. The once-dry areas now filled with water have become a thriving habitat for migratory birds, breathing new life into the lake’s surroundings.
