It’s good news for those who wish to rent out their homes during the busy summer months or for those who own an investment property as new reports reveal that passenger numbers at Turkish Airports have significantly increased by 23% for the first seven months of 2023, when compared to the same period last year.
Istanbul, Antalya and Milas-Bodrum all saw rises in the numbers of international travellers with 43.3m foreigners at Istanbul, 20.6m at Sabiha Gökçen, 15m at Antalya and 905,000 through Milas-Bodrum.
Total numbers of passengers across all of Türkiye’s airports reached 184.5m and international travellers grew by 27% year on year, helped of course by the growth in international routes which grew by 10%.
With the increase in international travel, demand for holiday rentals also rises especially with those who are looking at more affordable or a more private option to a hotel. On top of that there’s also the benefit of home-like amenities, a local experience and enhanced flexibility/freedom plus if they want something that’s a little more unique or diverse then they have a range of options, rather than just the ‘standard’ hotel offering.
If one is planning a longer term stay, then rentals tend to more of a practical choice, and if they are travelling in a group or with a large family, it can be much more sociable to rent a large villa or apartment, than rent separate rooms within a hotel, where there’s no guarantee of being on the same floor or in the same part of the building. Not to mention the limitations on noise or mealtimes!
