Once again the skies will be filled with dozens of brightly coloured hot air balloons as the annual hot air balloon festival in Turkey’s much loved tourist destination, the Cappadocia, kicks off.

Cappadocia which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list, is located in central Anatolia and is truly the most unique and magical site. The area is filled with rock formations resembling an incredible moon-like landscape, fairy chimneys, cave churches, deep valleys and rock cut-out monasteries. It really does look like something out of a fairy tale.

This is the Cappadocia’s third international balloon festival. There is said to be around 15 classic hot air balloons as well as 25 figure balloons by participants from around 12 different countries which include Turkey, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Brazil, Macedonia, Czech Republic and Slovenia.

During the festival there will be shows and concerts along with DJ performances and other music events. There will be balloon and swing photography activities, fog shows, parachuting, laser shows and night glow performances in which the hot air balloons will light up the night sky.

There will be various balloon shows. There will be four morning sessions and three evening sessions. The festival is due to take place sometime between July 21st and July 24th.
