Everyone loves a good beach right, whether it’s for relaxing, sunbathing, swimming, diving, playing, building sandcastles, or enjoying water sports and Turkey has some amazing beaches on offer two of which are Kleopatra and Cirali.
With more than 2m visitors per year and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in Alanya Kleopatra Beach was presented as a gift to Queen Cleopatra by her beloved Mark Anthony sometime between 69 BC to 30 BC, and though you can’t physically give it as a gift now, you can enjoy it’s blue flag status and turquoise blue waters, whilst feeling like a King or Queen. It offers great views of the Alanya Fortress, and like any good beach isn’t too far to all the local amenities selling food, drink, ice cream, buckets & spades, umbrellas and other beach related goodies.
Cirali Beach in Antalya is actually a protected site as it´s a nesting site for Sea Turtles during their season, and therefore it´s certainly unique place to be. Once described as the best beach holiday resort in Europe, it´s a mix of both Sand & Pebbles and stretches along the coast for 2 km, so if you like a good stroll, this is the one to be on. As with Kleopatra and any good beach, there are a number of restaurants and bars within easy reach that serve up delectable local produce and a great place to rest in the shade, when it gets too warm.
