Antalya is one of Türkiye’s top Mediterranean resorts and this years extremely high demand will not only see the tourist season extended potentially into October and November, but also it’s been revealed that occupancy rates for August have soared way beyond 90%, surpassing the 70% figure that was recorded back in July. It’s even being said that already Antalya has beaten the number of tourists that it saw in 2019.
The number of tourists arriving in the resort region for this month has been put at over 9m which marks an increase of 20% from 2022 plus with over 800,000 of those visitors arriving within the first 10 days of August, it shows a significant increase of 11% when compared with the same period last year.
It’s no lie that prices have increased, much like in other tourist hotspots across the globe, and there has been a notable decline in the number of tourists from Russia and Ukraine, however, with many hoteliers in the region actually deciding to increase their rates by only 30% compared to the Industry standard of 50%, it led to a notable resurgence in bookings especially from the UK, Germany and Poland.
Antalya has also seen an influx of foreigners buying property within the region to the tune of 110,000 homes which has led to increased accommodation options for holiday makers.
