What is Antalya in Turkey like?

Antalya is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world; it has a large number of five-star hotels, vacation resorts, and entertainment venues. It is the city with the highest population growth, drawing visitors from all over the world to experience its wonderful blend of modern retail malls, traditional Turkish culture, and magnificent beaches.

Antalya, like the majority of the Mediterranean, is surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges covered with pine trees, while the terrain east of the city, towards Side, is flatter and home to citrus and banana plantations. The markets, bars, and restaurants in the harbour are still very traditional. The harbour is full of expensive yachts and boats. There are a few beaches in Antalya, but Lara Beach, which is 10 kilometres from the city centre, is the most well-known.

Sightseeing in Antalya

Visit the Koprulu Canyon National Park in Antalya’s Manavgat neighbourhood. The Koprucay River runs beside Koprulu Canyon for 14km, rising to a maximum height of 400m. There is plenty to do in this area. You may hike, go rafting down the Koprucay River and under the ancient Roman arches, enjoy fabulous scenery and fauna, and discover archaeological sites.

The Kursunlu Waterfalls are another wonderful location. This is a tiny fall located in tranquil pine woodland. The Kursunlu Waterfall creates a little pool with turtles, crabs, and fish after falling from a height of roughly 10 metres. This is the ideal location for a picnic in a peaceful setting, in addition to admiring the stunning view of the waterfall and its environment. You can also go for a walk and explore the surrounding area while keeping an eye out for local wildlife and plants. Since 1986, the region has been accessible to tourists.

What is Kas like in Antalya?

KAS is a charming beach town that still exudes the ambiance of a traditional fishing community in the Mediterranean. The town has evolved into a rather contemporary location over the years, yet its traditional theme is still evident in the whitewashed houses adorned in vivid splashes of bougainvillea. The ancient site of Antiphellos with its theatre and ruins is just one of the fantastic sites Kas has to offer. The 4th-century B.C. Lion Tomb, which features two carved lion heads and can be viewed as the trail passes through Kas, is part of the Lycian Rock Tombs in this region.

What is Kemer like in Antalya?

42 kilometres to the west of the city is KEMER. This charming resort town mixes perfectly with the breathtaking environment surrounding it and creates the ideal getaway location. Kemer has a charming beachfront promenade with wonderful cafes and stores that sell a wide selection of high-quality gifts. The magnificent Kemer Marina leads right to Kemer Beach, which has earned a Blue Flag.

What is Manavgat in Antalya like?

MANAVGAT is located 72 kilometres from Antalya’s downtown. The Taurus Mountains’ beautiful forests, the river that flows through it and its waterfalls are what make it so famous. Manavgat has a gorgeously manicured riverside park with many fantastic eateries, cafes, and pubs. Every week, a market is held here on a Monday and a Thursday.

In 2024 so far, Antalya welcomed more than 15 million tourists. It is the largest international seaside resort in Turkey and has a population of more than 1.3 million people.
