Popular holiday destination Kusadasi has just seen its first cruise ship of 2023. The 228 metre long Norwegian-flagged vessel named “Viking Sky” docked at the Ege Port in the Aydin district. It comes after cruise ship “Viking Venus” left the dock just the day before making it the last ship of 2022.

A total of 841 passengers left the cruise ship and hopped on the local bus services. Some tourists went onto explore Kusadasi’s ancient city of Ephesus, the House of Virgin Mary and all its surrounding ruins while others wandered round the local shops and bazaars.

The General Manager of Ege Port Kusadasi, Aziz Gungor stated “We expect a serious growth especially for Kuşadası. The number of passengers is expected to exceed 1 million in 2023 unless there is a significant setback. This will be the highest number of passengers in the history of Kuşadası until this time.”
