The Istanbul 2020 Champions League Final logo has been revealed and was introduced by UEFA before the Champions Leagues group draw.
The logo has been created by artist and illustrator Tolga Tarhan. The design is an abstract look of the city at sunset. The logo is filled with rich, vibrant colours to show the sky and the city lights. It also features the Galata Tower, Bosphorus Bridge and the Aqueduct.
UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin has announced that Istanbul’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium will be hosting the 2020 Champions League final.
Back in 2005 the Ataturk Olympic Stadium hosted a great match between Liverpool and Milan which saw Liverpool come back from 3-0 at half time to draw 3-3 and then go onto win with a penalty shoot out.
At the moment the stadium’s current capacity is 75,000, but this number will increase to 92,208 as it is getting entriely rebuilt.
Turkey has hosted a number of great games over the years. Back in may 2000 Turkey’s own football team Galatasaray beat Arsenal in the UEFA Cup Final, this was a great victory for Turkey alongside the 2002 Fifa Cup Final that Turkey’s national squad came third place in.
