Recent reports have stated that Easy Jet holidays are aiming to fly out 1 million tourists to Turkey this year. The CEO Garry Wilson has said that “Easy Jet offers 18 routes between the United Kingdom and Turkey. As the travel restrictions are lifted, we are hoping to fly to the country with 1 million seats. Turkey has been one of the best-selling destinations during the pandemic.”
Wilson has said “We are offering a fantastic range of more than 250 hotels in Dalaman, Antalya, Izmir and Bodrum this summer. All-inclusive system proves that it is the favorite of U.K. customers booking holidays in Turkey.”
Beginning from mid May and April 12th we will start to see a gradual lifting of the travel ban by the British Government.
Over the past two weeks bookings have soared to an estimated 630% since British Prime Minister Boris Johnson gave us an insight of his plans to eventually allow international travel.
During the first months of the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020 when the travel ban began it was Turkey who launched a Safe Tourism Certificate Progam in June where it saw hundreds of hotels, restaurants and all other hospitality sectors certified allowing them to be inspected on a regular basis.
Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Nadir Alpaslan stated that “the aim of the program is to provide zero-risk atmosphere for tourists with strict health and hygiene measures.” He added “In 2021, we are expecting to host 34 million foreign visitors in our country with a rise of 100 percent from last year.”
Alpaslan also said “Turkey’s tourism total revenue is expected to reach $23 billion this year, up from $12.5 billion in 2020.”
Once the new tourism season begins Turkey is expecting to see a strong demand of bookings from not just British tourists but from tourists from Germany, Russia, Poland, Ukraine and the Netherlands.
