About Kalkan – Turkey

What is Kalkan in Turkey like?

On Turkey’s stunning southwest Mediterranean coast, the upscale and international resort of Kalkan is located. It is a part of the large Antalya region and is situated between Patara, a rustic village, and Kas, another wonderful seaside resort, with the longest sand beach in Turkey.

One of the most stunning places along Turkey’s stunning Lycian Coast is Kalkan, which is a magical site. Due to Kalkan’s Mediterranean location, its residents experience hot summers and moderate winters, making it a perfect weather trap. Kalkan is sufficiently tiny to avoid mass tourism and offers a high-end, nearly independent way of life.

A picturesque and unspoiled refuge of lush environment, a bright blue, crystal-clear sea, historic architecture, ancient history, and warm traditional Turkish hospitality, the typical old town features whitewashed buildings draped in bougainvillea. Formerly a fishing community, Kalkan is now a fairly sophisticated beach town with secluded restaurants and late-night entertainment.

The charming resort of Kalkan

Kalkan is still a wonderful and attractive resort with dazzling blue, crystal-clear water, historical buildings, and to top it all off, warm traditional Turkish hospitality, even in the absence of mass tourists.

In addition to being the perfect getaway for those seeking peace and quiet while taking in the natural beauty of the roughest mountains covered in pine woods and the cleanest seashores, Kalkan is also the excellent location for those looking to visit the nearby ruins of ancient Lycian cities. Lycia, often known as “The Land of Light,” was the first known historical federation and included the contemporary city- states between Fethiye and Antalya. Its seat was Xanthos (Arna in Lycian), which is now Kinik, 17 kilometres (11 miles) from Kalkan.

What does Kalkan have to offer?

Leaving the main town, you come across contemporary villas with views of the ocean. Brilliant sea views are provided by infinity pools and floor to ceiling windows. Few places in Turkey can compare to Kalkan. A tiny group of expats also make this their year-round home. They live a Mediterranean lifestyle, even though daily life slows down in the winter. Anyone considering moving there can rely on an established network of support, communication, and counsel.

In the late evenings, Kalkan Halk Beach, which is always accessible to the general public and is situated directly on the Kalkan harbour, is ideal for strolling.

Beautiful Kaputas Beach is located in a quiet cove and is accessible from the road by going downwards. Here is beautiful sand, with shallow, clear seas for non-swimmers. Although there are no cafes, there are nice merchants nearby who have coolers stocked with ice cream and soft beverages.

Even though Kalkan Beach Park (Kisla Beach) is a small beach park, travellers flock there in droves since it’s a wonderful spot for families. Thanks to its magnificent waterslide, you can amuse the kids. For older kids and adults, there are numerous water sport activities accessible throughout the height of the summer.

The entire family can have a lot of fun at Kalamar Beach Club. There are numerous activities available, including pedal boats and kayaks.
