The Tunektepe Cable Car, Antalya

The Tunekyepe cable car was first thought of back in 2013 and has been many years in the making, the first section finally opened in 2017.  It sits west of Antalay city centre and takes 650 passengers. It cost around 15 million Turkish lira to build, which was a relatively small amount when comparing to some of Turkeys other major projects. It has It has been labelled the cheapest cable car ride in Turkey.

It is proving to be very popular with the locals and tourists who have been lining up to take the 8.5 minute ride which offers stunning panoramic views over Sarisu Creek, Taurus Mountians, Setur Marina and the Konyaalti region. After you have admired the views, you can then sit back and relax in lovely cafes and tea gardens offering lunch and refreshments. There is a prayer room and there is a health centre available for accidents and emergencies.
