If you want to venture out of Istanbul then why not visit the Princes Islands.  There is much to do here.

There are some great spots to eat at.

To begin your day on the Princes Islands visit Buyukada (Big Island) for a lovely Turkish breakfast. Two popular spots to enjoy a delicious breakfast are at the Ada Palas Boutique Hotel Secret Garden restaurant and the White Garden.

If you visit Buyukada then you must try its Prinkipo ice cream. The ice cream comes in a huge cone and is one of Buyukada’s novelties.

If you want to go out to spend some quality time with the family over dinner then visit the Bistro Candy Garden. It offers colourful interiors and you can dine within a peaceful garden setting enjoying the most incredible surroundings.

There is also the Kalpazankaya cape of Burgazada. This was a favourite spot of Turkish writer Sait Faik Abasiyanik. It is the perfect place to enjoy a lovely meal and take an evening stroll while watching the sunset.

Besides enjoying the delightful eateries, Princes Islands also offers things for those who enjoy the outdoors and soaking up the culture.

You can climb up the Hizir Ilyas Hill. From here you will be able to enjoy views from the top of Adakule (Island Tower).

There are some great cultural tours available for those who love their history. You can visit the Sait Faik Abasiyank’s Museum in Burgazada, St Nicholas Hangar Museum in Buyukada and Halki Seminary on Heybeliada.

A great way of travelling around the Islands is by bike riding. Hiring out bicycles is a much better way of getting around as motorized vehicles are not allowed on the streets There are some horse-drawn carriages, but not many due to the hot weather.

If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city then a day at the beach is just the thing. Teos Beach Club on Kinaliada (Henna Island) makes a great day out. You can enjoy swimming in the clear blue sea, you can sunbathe or relax with a book. It is the perfect spot to get away from it all.

As well as places to visit, the Princes Islands also offers lovely accommodation for those looking for peace and quiet in a tranquil setting. The Buyukada’s Princess Hotel and the White Palace are two hotels that offer pure relaxation.

The Princes Islands are a small haven offering a peaceful environment, wonderful nature and the chance to relax away from the bust city life.
