More holidaymakers are set to enjoy a late break in the sunshine thanks to Jet2 who have once again increased their capacity. Winter holidays are being added to both Turkey and the Canary Islands due to high demand.

Jet2 announced that there will be a additional flights Antalya and Dalaman as well as Lanzarote, Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura. Flights will be operating from Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Bristol, Edinburgh, London Stansted and East Midlands.

The extra flights have been added following the recent announcement by the government relaxing its international travel restrictions as well as the replacement of the two day PCR tests with the lateral flow tests.

Chief Executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, Steve Heapy stated that “Customers are recognising that international travel is genuinely reopening following the welcome news from the government on lateral flow tests, and we have seen winter demand from holidaymakers returning to pre-pandemic levels.”

Heapy went onto say “As such, our winter sun programme is looking very busy, with customers flocking to get that much-needed holiday booked in after facing lockdowns and harsh travel restrictions for so long.”
