A Winter in Antalya

There’s many reasons to visit the fabulous area of Antalya, and as it’s a destination that’s open all year around, it doesn’t matter whether you visit in the Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter, but considering the time of year, here’s just a few reasons as to why you should also consider spending the ‘Winter in Antalya’.

Firstly Antalya is Turkey’s second most popular holiday destination attracting thousands of people throughout the year, from all over the globe, and why not when it offers over 300 days of sunshine per year, giving you more opportunities to swim and enjoy the gorgeous climate?

Secondly if you come over the winter months, not only will it be a little quieter so you’ll get more space and time to look around at your own pace, but you’ll also be able to save some money as Hotels & restaurants amend their pricing packages and charge less once the main summer season has ended.

The third reason is the sheer number of historical places, and ‘Places of Interest’ that remain open during the Winter months, such as the Kaleici Old Town & Hadrian’s Gate, The Ancient Cities of Termessos and Perge, The Mount Tahtali Cable Car which takes you up the Taurus Mountain range, Antalya Museum which houses artefacts, displays and exhibitions about Turkey’s Ottoman days, the Aquarium and of course the Local Tour Shops. Even though its still warm, it’s not as blistering as in the Summer, so it’s cooler when you are walking around too – always an added bonus!

Fourth is the travel, when the number of options for getting too and from the airport doesn’t drop, but flights are cheaper in general. It’s nice and easy to travel to and from your final destination by taxi, the bus or the train.

Lastly – the winter sports on offer here, mainly the Skiing at the resort of Saklikent on the northern slopes of Mount Bakirlidagi in the Taurus Mountain Range. There’s an array of ‘slopes’ for everyone including beginners, and the instructors are brilliant at what they do!

That’s just five reasons to visit, but there’s plenty more, and if you need further information please do come and speak with Turkish Connextions. We’d be delighted to help and assist, and of course if you are thinking about buying property in Antalya, then we are the local specialists and can help here too!
