Tourists Flock to Turkey Despite Covid-19

Despite the worries of Covid-19 and flights being few and far between, Turkey was still highly popular amongst British Travellers this Summer, with 30% of all searches on Travel Supermarket being for holidays in Antalya, Dalaman, Fethiye, and Istanbul.

Turkey’s relative low rate of infection meant that not only were flights able to resume here pretty quicky, but also, and more importantly travellers were able to avoid the 14 day quarantine rule that was set by the British Government for other countries which were considered as ‘high risk’.

As we’ve mentioned before in other news articles, Turkey also introduced a lot of safety measures to ensure that social distancing was complied with, restaurants and beaches were carefully monitored with restrictions on numbers, and hotels had to follow a strict ‘Covid code’ in order to receive their ‘Safe Tourism Certification’ enabling them to open and receive tourists.

Turkey has always been popular with the British, and the rest of the world in general, due to it’s amazing climate throughout the year, hospitality, fabulous food, and cheap vacation property, and this doesn’t look like subsiding anytime soon.
