Istanbul should press ahead with its 2032 Olympic bid

Senior officials believe Turkey should bid to host the 2032 Summer Olympic Games, after losing out to Tokyo in the 2020 bid.

HasanArat deputy chairman of the  Turkish National Olympic Committee believes Turkey should continue with its quest to stage a summer Olympics, of  course the 2020 Olympics have had to be postponed till 2021, Paris is due to host the 2024 games followed by Los Angeles for 2028 however the host nation for 2032 has still be be decided.

As far back as 2013 Istanbul lost out to Tokyo for this summers postponed games beating Madrid to take on the vote against Tokyo.  Hasan urged the next generation to not give up and that one day the games would come to Istanbul.

Much of the infrastructure is in place the new Istanbul Airport, a major airport characterised as the “World’s new hub”, once fully complete it will serve 20 million passengers with four phases and six runways by 2028. and the Mamaray -Istanbul intercontinental commuter rail line. The Vodaphone Park in Istanbul with seating capacity of 42,000.

2032 seems a long way off but it’s not and time passes quickly, Istanbul will be ready, Turkey is ready!!!!
