The Marriott International is one of the biggest and most well-known chains in the Hotel Industry with numerous 5* properties in many of the world´s largest cities and holiday resort destinations. Already with 31 hotels in Turkey, represented by several of their different brands, they have recognised the steady increase in Tourism over the last few years and have decided to invest further in Turkey, with more locations.

The General Manager of JW Marriott Istanbul Bosphorus & Sheraton Istanbul City Centre Sinan Koseoglu told news reporters ´Turkey has many attractive areas, not only offering urban tourism but also several other opportunities such as culture and health tourism´. He also went on to say that ´We contribute to the Turkey economy with foreign currency inflow.´

ARTIC (Al Rayyan Tourism Investment Company) made it´s first move into Turkey earlier this year in July with the purchase of the Bosphorus and the Sheraton International, and now has plans to increase their investment rather heavily over the few months & years to come. What´s nice to see though, is that they are looking at re-furbishing existing buildings, rather than new builds, such as the Veli Alemdar Han building in Istanbul, which, established over 180 years ago used to house foreign shipping agencies but now houses tourists from all over the world, and was re-named as the Istanbul Bosphorus, part of the JW Marriott Brand.
